Cheetahs at Rest

Size: 1016x762mm (40x30in)
Stretched canvas, deep edge

The cheetah is smaller than the lion or leopard, but very much faster and runs at speeds of 70 miles per hour (115 km/h), making it the fastest runner of all the animals. Although fast, the cheetah cannot run at full speed for long distances. They have distinctive black “tear stripes” that connect from the inside corner of each eye to the mouth, as Cardin has captured in this painting.
